A viral death hoax claims that Bill Nye, the former host of the beloved series Bill Nye the Science Guy is dead. Nye, 63, is said to have died earlier this week from unknown causes, but the report, which spread on Facebook and Twitter, proved to be false.

According to Monsters and Critics, a Facebook page dedicated to Nye, who is also a mechanical engineer, released a statement providing details on his supposed death. Several users took to the comment section and to Twitter to voice their sadness over the hoax. “I almost started crying bwcause [sic] I saw this fake thing about Bill Nye being dead,” wrote one agitated user.

False Reports State That Nye Was Found Dead Earlier This Week from Unknown Causes

Other fans were less humored by the death hoax. “Whatever a*shole thought it would be funny to report that Bill Nye is dead when he’s alive and we’ll,” wrote one user. “I hope you step on a LEGO.” Check out additional Twitter reactions below.

This Is Only the Latest Death Hoax That Nye Has Had to Deal With Online

This is not the first time that Bill Nye has head to deal with rumors of a death hoax. In 2012, it was widely reported that he killed in an accident when trying to fill a hot air balloon by mixing baking soda and vinegar, which produces carbon dioxide. The story was reported by fictitious news site The Onion, but it was soon picked up other news sources.

Instagram Photo

Many believe that the death hoax was started as a backlash against Nye’s comments about creationism. In a video titled “Creationism Is Not Appropriate for Children”, Nye stated that the theory is blatantly incorrect. “I say to the grownups, if you want to deny evolution and live in your world, in your world that’s completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that’s fine, but don’t make your kids do it because we need them,” he explained in the video. “We need scientifically literate voters and taxpayers for the future. We need people that can—we need engineers that can build stuff, solve problems.”

Nye Recently Tweeted from His Personal Account, Proving the Rumors to Be False

Compared to other celebrities, Nye has been plagued by death hoaxes on a semi-regular basis. In 2014, another round of rumors and speculation about his death surfaced. This time, however, it was not a balloon accident that led to his death; it was homicide. The Inquisitr reports that Nye was murdered by a suspect that claimed it was God that made him do it.

Instagram Photo

In 2016, a third death hoax involving Nye surfaced. According to the Inquisitr, a Facebook page was made to honor his death, which was said to have occured on May 2. Despite the specificity, Nye posted photos of himself at the Climate Action Summit in Washington D.C. on May 6, effectively disproving the hoax.

Nick Cannon Posts Homophobic Tweets By Female Comedians

Nick Cannon took to Twitter on Saturday morning to repost a series of homophobic tweets made by female comedians. He posted tweets from the likes of Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, and Sarah Silverman among others, before going on to draw parallels between their remarks and the homophobic tweets that caused Kevin Hart to step down from hosting the Oscars.

Cannon, 38, posted tweets from the likes of Schumer and Handler with comments on each, like: “Interesting. I wonder if there was any backlash here…” After a fellow Twitter user attempted to pass off the tweets as being in the past, Cannon responded by writing: “Nope!! You know I’ve been saying f*cked up sh*t since twitter started! I don’t play that politically correct bullsh*t! F*ck politics!! Only Truth!” Check out Cannon’s tweets below.

Cannon Reposted Homophobic Tweets from the Likes of Amy Schumer & Sarah Silverman

The Twitter outpouring comes a few days after Hart stepped down as host of the 2019 Oscars on Thursday. “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars,” he wrote in his official statement.

“This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists,” he added. “I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.”

“I’m sorry that I hurt people,” he added. “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” Cannon was one of many comedians, along with DL Hughley, Michael Blackson and Tony Rock, who supported Hart’s decision.

After the comedian announced that he would be stepping away from his hosting duties, Cannon tweeted out: “We with you regardless!!! You know we feel about people trying to control us anyway!!”

Cannon’s Tweets Come on the Heels of Kevin Hart’s Decision to Not Host the Oscars

Cannon’s tweets have incited a backlash of their own. Many feel that he is overstepping his bounds, and that he is attempting to create more division among those in the comedy world. “Nick Cannon really thought he killed it with those tweets,” wrote one disgruntled fan. “We literally pay no mind to any of those women.”

“And Nick Cannon can kiss my a*s by bringing up the homophobic tweets of those white women,” wrote an angered user. “He’s being deliberately obtuse because what Kevin said was wrong. Homophobia is wrong no matter the color of the person spewing the hate.”

“This Nick Cannon sh*t is the Bill Cosby case all over again,” wrote a third fan. “A bunch of whataboutisms b/c black people do not like holding black men accountable. They didn’t see the need to address those white women (ignored when others did) until they realized they couldn’t be homophobic too.” Check out additional Twitter reactions above.

After announcing her split from husband Offset, rapper Cardi B returned to the stage for the first time at NYC’s Jingle Ball. Cardi brought the house down with a performance of her hit single “Bartier Cardi”, but when it came time to recite the lyric that mentions Offset by name, she saw fit to throw up her middle finger.

Cardi can be seen throwing up the hand gesture in relation to the lines “I turn Offset on”, making it clear to her fans that there won’t be a reconciliation any time soon. Watch a video of the performance and the bird flip below.

Cardi B Flips the Middle Finger When She Mentions Offset’s Name During a Song

Hollywood Life reports that the split between Cardi, and Offset, was a long time coming. “Cardi moved out over the summer and they have not been living together since,” claimed an inside source. “However, the pair continued to make it look like they were together as Cardi was hoping for some miracle that would solve the trust and other issues they were having as a couple. She did not want to announce the split and was hanging onto hope that her small family would find a way to stay together.”

“She still loves Offset and really wanted things to work out,” the source added. “However, when the latest round of text messages and receipts from other women came forward, Cardi felt completely disrespected for the last time.” The text messages referenced by the source were allegedly between Offset and two aspiring female rappers known as Cuban Doll and Summer Bunni. Offset is believed to have asked them to participate in a threesome.

Cardi B & Offset Were Reportedly Heading for a Split for Some Time According to Insiders

“I don’t know [Offset]. I’ve never even spoke with him,” Cuban Doll told TMZ. “I never had no conversation with him… Cardi hit me up. She knows what’s up. She knows I had nothing to do with that. She knows we have nothing to do with that.”

Summer Bunni went a step further, and is said to be releasing a track titled “Don’t Matter” about her relationship about Offset. “I just wanted to write about how I felt at the time,” she told The Blast. “I’m sick of you, I guess my feelings don’t matter.” She raps throughout the song. “You didn’t mean it huh / What you say / You stay lying n***a straight to my face.” Summer Bunni goes on to add: “F**k the gossip f**k the tea / I’m the one that you really need.” Give the track a listen above.

Emilie Brooklyn: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Emilie Holte is from Denmark and now lives in New York City. She began dancing at age four. Now 23, she first received attention in the U.S. after performing Al B’s circa 1981 ‘Harlem Shake’ on A$AP Ferg’s track ‘Plain Jane.’

She’s a very blond white woman accused of cultural appropriation.

‘Emilie Brooklyn,’ as she is known professionally, is a well-known dancer who specializes in hip-hop. She danced her version of the Milly Rock in front of the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn in early December. The home of Shawn Carter, aka Jay Z, Holte said her moves were a tribute to the celebrated rapper from Brooklyn on his B-day, Dec. 4.

Millions have seen the video and tens of thousands have disagreed that her post was done in honor. Indeed, she was dragged on Twitter.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Posted First on Her Instagram, But Viewed by 3.4 Million on Another’s Twitter Account, Emilie Brooklyn’s Moves Saw Her Accused of Appropriation & Gentrification

A tweet of the video by Long Island University graduate student called Queen Sha Shaa read: “Never in my years of being born in raised in Brooklyn, I thought I would see a white girl Milly Rockin’ in front of Marcy Projects in Bedstuy 😩😭 that’s right siss go off 🗣🗣🗣🗣”

Of the more than 14,000 comments, many see a girl appropriating black culture and further validating the fact that gentrification has blanketed Brooklyn. Still, others just see a good dancer.

And the dragging began.

“Milly Rock while calling the cops …”

“I know her. That’s Jen Trification.”

“So, she survived dancing in the projects, but then got killed in the Twitter comments. Rest In Peace, girl.”

2. Emilie Brooklyn’s Original IG Post, an Homage to Jay Z on his Birthday, Also Had Its Fans & Detractors

Instagram Photo

In a birthday message to HOV, Emilie Brooklyn posted, “Had to step out where the GOAT was created.”

Here too the comments included mostly ones critical of her decision to don Timberlands and use the Marcy Projects as a backdrop. Many included server and ruthless condemnation, others a nod of approval saying she’s was being respectful and paying homage. One tactfully explained to the dancer what the problem is:

“This is definitely tone deaf but something tells me you won’t understand why until you spend some more time in your new community. I see that you’re from Denmark so you not understand the cultural context is almost expected, but it’s pretty offensive nonetheless you guys have traditions like Black Pete etc… everyone can see that your dance isn’t racist in a hateful way, but you fetishized something that didn’t need to be. Now that you’re in New York City and live in a predominantly black community, hopefully, you’ll open up and learn that other peoples struggles or not for props and backdrops.”

The general consensus on her post? The dancer from Denmark can honor hip-hop culture without stealing it.

3. Emile Brooklyn Explains Herself: ‘I Do Have the Utmost Respect For These People & This Culture’

Instagram Photo

“When the music takes over and I let the moment and my movement speak. Dancing gets deep to me. I don’t just dance to dance anymore, I dance to break barriers and unify people. Let me remind you of the principles of hip-hop: PEACE, LOVE, UNITY & HAVING FUN. That is what I stand by. As a woman and as a human being. I will always remain myself whether it’s excepted or not.”

In this post, while still criticized, she was largely supported.

“You won’t be accepted by everyone but that’s okay. Keep doing you.”

In a two-part interview series, she says it’s “difficult I’m not gonna lie,” but says she has the “utmost respect for these people and this culture.”

“I really don’t want this to be a thing …white people stealing black culture and getting the fame of it…I do this from the heart. It’s just dancing. At the end of the day, I do this with love.” She says she’s aware “this is an issue … a very serious topic…”

Emilie Brooklyn has posted images of herself with ‘Harlem to Paris’ rapper Marty Baller and Diggy Simmons, the latter where she says she’s choreographed a music video for he hip=hop royalty.

Instagram Photo

“If you don’t know me you look at my Instagram and, you know, ‘Oh, this white girl she just stole some shit and now she’s getting lit off of it,” she says adding that people don’t know she’s been “out here busting my ass for 17-plus years.

4. Emile Brooklyn Was Also Blasted For Her Lady Foot Locker Advertisement Which the Shoe Company Itself Removed From IG

Instagram Photo

The dancer was roasted on her IG for her Lady Foot Locker endorsement photos where people called out her appropriation of black culture. But it wasn’t just the dancer people were upset with.

Comments directed to Lady Foot Locker included, “Any plans to address the feedback you received on this endorsement or are you planning to simply delete the comments and posts for their doubling down on your complicity by silence in black voices.”

“Looks like Lady foot locker took their post of you down without addressing your appropriation of black culture. Any chance you’ll take some personal responsibility and dress the community from what you continue to shamelessly profit,” one commented.

Many people attempted to explain to the dancer and performer that while she may be inspired by hip-hop, she should steer clear of appropriating it culturally. She’s accused of stealing opportunities for black female artists, models and performers.

“You need to move over and give the power to black women who deserve it. Not you someone else’s culture for fame and money you’re a terrible person.”

5. From Denmark, Holte’s Resume Includes Professional Choreography, International Dance Competitions, Commercial Endorsements & Teaching

Copenhagen-born Holte has warmed up a crowd at a Tyga concert, worked with the UK group Silk City and danced in a Lil Mama video.

She’s won competitions and TV talent shows all over the UK, Europe, and the Netherlands. She teaches, choreographs and performs internationally.

She’s done ad photoshoots for Red Bull and she’s been featured in dance and hip-hop culture magazines.

Instagram Photo

She also volunteers as a hip-hop dance teacher and fills in for faculty at EXPG Studio in New York.

And through much of her breakout as an Instagram personality, she’s been at once accepted and accused of cultural appropriation; she’s often seen in cornrows, for example. And in particular, an image of her donning a do-rag has some calling her a “culture vulture.”

The dancer says that her goal is to “dance to break barriers and unify people.”

WATCH: Columbia Physics Student Makes ‘Racist’ Rant About White People

On Saturday night, a student at Columbia University allegedly walked up to a group of students of color and unleashed a bizarre rant about race and history. The student has been identified, by one of the onlookers, as Julian von Abele, a physics student who specializes in quantum physics and mathematical physics.

On Saturday night, von Abele appeared to be drunk and was visibly swaying during his rant. The whole unsettling incident was filmed by one of the onlookers; you can watch it here.

The video opens with von Abele, wearing a blazer and a button down shirt, loudly proclaiming, “We invented the modern world.” He’s talking to a group of students of color; he himself seems to be traveling solo.

“Who?” someone asks him. “Europeans,” von Abele clarifies. (He doesn’t answer when someone asks, in mock surprise, whether he is European himself.)

Von Abele, his voice rising, continues, “we invented science and industry and you want to tell us to stop because oh my God, we’re so bad.” He goes on, “We saved billions of people from starvation. We built modern civilization.” You can hear the other students expressing shock. “Oh, my God,” one says. Another asks, “what about slavery?”

But von Abele keeps going, showing no sign of having heard the other students’ responses to his tirade. At this point he is screaming, swaying a bit, and waving his arms wildly. “White people are the best thing ever,” he yells. “I love myself and I love my people,” he yells, jumping up and down.

“Say it again,” urges one of the onlookers. “F*** yeah, white people,” von Abele yells. “We’re white people. We did everything. I don’t hate other people, I just love myself. I just love white men.”

It’s not clear what sparked this tirade, or why he suddenly addressed this group of students. But one Columbia undergraduate told a student newspaper that the incident started when a group of student, mainly African American, was crossing the campus late on Saturday night. They saw a young man (later identified as von Abele) approaching and heard him yelling, “I love white people, we are the best,” and “Trump is a great president.” That led to the conversation captured on video.

Von Abele allegedly approached another group of students and unleashed a similar rant later in the same night, according to the student newspaper. Campus security was called but ultimately said that nothing could be done about it, since von Abdle was simply expressing his opinions.

Mark Sanchez Benched: Twitter Rips Redskins, Calls for Colin Kaepernick

It seems the Mark Sanchez experiment for the Washington Redskins may be over just one half into his first start of the year. With the Redskins falling into a 40-0 hole against the Odell Beckham Jr.-less New York Giants, Sanchez was benched in favor of recently-signed veteran Josh Johnson. The move may signal the end of his short tenure as a starter with the Redskins and possibly his NFL career.

But one key thing that stands out here is the fact that many had clamored for the Redskins to bring in Colin Kaepernick as the replacement for Alex Smith and Colt McCoy. Washington opted against it, and after Sanchez’s poor showing, they’re hearing about it in a big way.

At the time the veteran quarterback was pulled, he had completed just 6-of-14 passes for 38 yards with two interceptions. The Giants sacked Sanchez five times and he posted a quarterback rating of 10.7.

Twitter Rips Redskins Over Colin Kaepernick Decision Again

Redskins Decision Not to Sign Colin Kaepernick

The Redskins made the call not to sign Kaepernick shortly after McCoy’s injury which will sideline him for the year. It came with heavy scrutiny but got even worse after head coach Jay Gruden opted to address the situation publicly.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed, the Redskins “talked about” the idea of Kaepernick.

“There’s not a lot of time to get a brand-new quarterback and system installed in a couple of days,” he said before the Redskins signed Johnson. “He’s been talked about, but we’ll probably go in a different direction.”

Schefter also reported that the Redskins did not reach out to the free-agent quarterback, pointing to the fact that there was likely not much interest in doing so. While the decision was surprising for a variety of reasons, the biggest is that the Redskins were still squarely in the NFC East race.

Heading into Week 14, Washington held a 6-6 record, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for second place behind the Dallas Cowboys (7-5). The soon-to-be loss against the New York Giants this week will hurt their chances, but most believe that Kaepernick could have a least helped them remain in the mix.

Offset Tweets Out That He ‘Misses’ Cardi B After Split

The split between Cardi B and Offset has dominated the rap community over the past week, as both artists have addressed it in their own way. Cardi has largely ignored questions about the break up, while Offset took to Twitter to break his silence and admit that he misses Cardi.

“F*ck Yall I Miss Cardi,” the Migos rapper bluntly tweeted out. The tweet comes a day after Cardi alluded to their split during New York City’s Jingle Ball. Cardi performed the Migos song “Motorsport,” but chose to swap out one notable lyric for another: “I get up set off. I turn Offset on. I told him the other day, yeah, we gon’ get a divorce!” She also threw up her middle finger during the Offset reference, making it abundantly clear that she doesn’t plan on reuniting any time soon.

Offset Tweeted That He ‘Misses’ Cardi B Following Their Split

This is the second cryptic comment that Offset has made following the split. After Cardi posted a video to Instagram announcing their separation, he left a comment that read: “Y’all win.” This led many to speculate that the rapper was referring to the countless cheating rumors that surrounded him during his marriage to Cardi.

During an interview with Billboard, Offset spoke on the joys of family life and how his marriage, as well as his infant daughter Kulture, informed the themes of his upcoming solo album Red Room. “I’m talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married,” he revealed. “There’s different parts of my life. The ups and downs of being in music, the feeling of people doubting me and being the underdog to becoming the big dog.”

Offset Has Spoken About the Importance of Family & Marriage In the Past

Instagram Photo

In a subsequent interview with the New York Times, Offset opened up about how his life changed once he met Cardi. “[It’s been] the best thing that’s happened to me personally, which helps me make the music, which helps my career,” he said. “I have no distractions. And me and her? We haven’t even dropped an album yet. That’s a whole other realm… I have a wife and a child — that changed my whole everything. I was a young hothead, but now I understand the value of life.”

While Cardi has not yet spoken about her split from Offset, an inside source claims that she is also reeling from the loss. “Cardi moved out over the summer and they have not been living together since,” a source told Hollywood Life. “However, the pair continued to make it look like they were together as Cardi was hoping for some miracle that would solve the trust and other issues they were having as a couple. She did not want to announce the split and was hanging onto hope that her small family would find a way to stay together.”

LeBron James Reacts to ‘Miami Miracle’ as Dolphins Top Patriots

The ending of the Miami Dolphins’ 34-33 win over the New England Patriots in Week 14 sent the internet into a frenzy. It was a 69-yard touchdown which featured a hook-and-ladder and another lateral on top of that. When all was said and done, it was running back Kenyan Drake who weaved his way through the defense and into the end zone for the victory.

After the game, one of the first to react was Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James who was left completely stunned.

If you missed the play, LeBron’s reaction wasn’t at all surprising based on how the game ended. Here’s a look at the wild moment and a bit of the ensuing celebration which quickly got underway in Miami.

The victory moved the Dolphins to 7-6 on the season and kept them squarely in the AFC Wild Card mix. It was a pretty incredible game as well which featured nine lead changes and strong offensive performances from a variety of players on both sides.

Tom Brady and Ryan Tannehill Both Play Big

While Brady had yet another impressive game, this time throwing for 358 yards with three touchdowns, Ryan Tannehill made his presence felt throughout as well. The Dolphins quarterback completed 14-of-19 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns while posting a 155.1 quarterback rating.

When all was said and done, it was Tannehill who got the last laugh thanks to the off-the-walls finish. He also got some help on the ground in this win from veteran running back Frank Gore, who ripped off 92 yards on 12 carries, good for 7.7 yards per carry.

Tannehill and wide receiver Kenny Stills (eight catches, 135 yards, one touchdown) made the headlines, but a quiet day from Drake was quickly forgotten thanks to the finish. He rushed for just 24 yards on six attempts, but no single play of the Dolphins’ entire season was as important as the game-winner in Week 14.

What is the Definition of Smocking? President Trump Mocked For Tweet

$
0

President Trump has triggered teasing on social media after typing “Smocking Gun” not once, but twice, in the same post. The president wrote the tweet early Monday morning on December 10, in reference to the Russia investigation.

The tweet read, “‘Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion.’ @FoxNews That’s because there was NO COLLUSION. So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution,…”

“….which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me). Cohen just trying to get his sentence reduced. WITCH HUNT!”

Social media was quick to jump on the mistake, noting that since he wrote “smocking” twice, it must not have been a typo. The president wrote “smocking” in another tweet on August 1, 2018, but later deleted it, as pointed out by Mediaite.

‘Smocking’ Refers to an Embroidery Technique, as Pointed Out by Merriam-Webster

The Merriam-Webster dictionary pointed out on its own Twitter handle that “smocking” is a real word. It refers to an embroidery technique. Merriam-Webster provides the following definition: “a decorative embroidery or shirring made by gathering cloth in regularly spaced round tucks.”

The Oxford dictionary has this definition: “Decoration on a garment created by gathering a section of the material into tight pleats and holding them together with parallel stitches in an ornamental pattern.” The dictionary includes a few examples of how “smocking” would be correctly used in a sentence. “Because the smocking is done as an insert rather than at the top of the skirt front piece, the skirt length will need to be shortened.” Another example: “Scallop-edged eyelet and smocking provide a summery look, regardless of the season.”

#SmockingGun Inspired Thousands of Social Media Memes

Actress Mia Farrow provided a clever response to the president’s tweet. She shared a photo of a “gun” made out of white fabric.

The son of Michael Flynn was among those who defended the president by taking aim at his critics. Flynn Junior wrote, “The #FakeNewsMedia will work overtime today to interpret/read into/make fun of tweet below. All the while discussing RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA. Know who is absolutely sick of that narrative? Everyone who voted for Trump in 2016. #SmockingGun #2020LockedDown.”

J Alfa Mais was among those who shared that the “smocking gun” focus was a distraction. “Wow. It’s amazing how many people on both sides of the aisle are falling for this #SmockingGun nonsense. Can everybody please #wakeup and get back on task?”

Here’s a roundup of more Twitter reactions to President Trump’s “smocking.”

Smocking Gun,” President Donald Trump’s most recent typo, is trending on Twitter after he misspelled the word not once, but twice in the same tweet posted early Monday morning.

“Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion,” Trump tweeted, attempting to quote Fox News.

This isn’t the first time Trump has made a few mistakes when furiously tweeting in the early hours of the morning. He has been called out several times by the grammar police on Twitter for misspelling words like “counsel” (he wrote “councel” when talking about the White House Counsel in August), unprecedented (he wrote “unpresidented” in a 2016 tweet about China stealing a United States Navy research drone), and confusing the word “role” for “roll,” among others.

Twitter, as always, was quick to jump on the most recent typo, flooding social media with tweets, memes, reactions and jokes at the president’s expense. Several celebrities jumped on board as well, including J.K. Rowling, George Takei and Monica Lewinsky.

“The world’s in such a state, I almost feel like taking up smocking,” Rowling wrote Monday afternoon. Lewinsky simply wrote “no smocking please,” followed by three flame emojis.

Even Merriam-Webster poked fun at the president, giving the real definition of the word: “Today in Spellcheck Can’t Save You: ‘Smocking is a type of embroidery made of many small folds sewn into place.”

The rest of the internet deployed a series of hilarious memes, gifs and jokes tearing the typo (and, obviously, the president) to pieces.

Some supported Trump’s tweet, agreeing that there was technically no “smocking gun” because there “is no such thing as a smocking gun.”

Some parody accounts sarcastically posted that Trump meant to spell it as “smocking” because he “went to the best schools.”

Piggybacking off the Merriam-Webster post, another user posted a picture of an actual smocking gun, while others posted pictures of smocking projects.

Some even created their own smocking guns, along with pictures of the president holding his very own smocking gun.

Others threw in a couple references to the president’s prior typing mistakes, including the infamous “covfefe,” “Scott Free” and “boarder.” According to the Trump Twitter Archive he tweeted “smocking gun” once before when quoting the Washington Post, which Stephen Colbert poked fun of.

While other used it as an opportunity to sarcastically lash out at the NRA.

Some wanted to believe his tweet came from a parody account, but weren’t altogether surprised to find out it was definitely posted on his official account.

“Only in America do we have to double-check a tweet from the ‘president’ to see if it’s really a parody account because the content is so ridiculous,” user Jlyne Hanback said.

The rest of the internet churned out thousands of memes and gifs mocking the mistake. Check out some of the top memes and jokes below:

Vincent S. Armstrong: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

$

The FBI will be charging Vincent S. Armstrong, 23, in connection with an alleged domestic terror plot to pipe bomb an “upscale” Toledo, Ohio bar. The government alleges the plot was cooked up by Armstrong and his girlfriend Elizabeth “Bee” Ridge LeCron, according to the US Attorney.

LeCron was charged Monday by the US Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio after she purchased “black powder and hundreds of screws that she expected would be used to make a bomb.” Calling it an act of terror, the government said LeCron “demonstrated that she was committed to seeing death and destruction in order to advance hate.”

Armstrong is being held for now in the Lucas County jail set to appear in federal court Wednesday on a charge likely to be similar to that leveled against LeCron; transportation of explosives and explosive material, namely black powder used for making a bomb, for the purposes of harming others and property.

According to the affidavit filed in federal court Monday, in June of 2018, an associate of both LeCron and Armstrong told police that Armstrong, who had recently moved in with LeCron, and his new girlfriend were plotting an attack that would result in mass casualties. The FBI had an informant and an undercover communicate with the couple who shared their plan to carry out a domestic terror attack.

You can read the full affidavit in support of the federal arrest warrant for LeCron here:

Here’s what you need to know:

1. During the Summer & Fall of 2018, LeCron & Armstrong Planned a Mass Murder, Had Weapons & Bought Bomb-Making Materials

elizabeth lecron

Lucas County JailElizabeth LeCron.

In the government’s court filings, Armstrong was referred to as Subject-1. LeCron and Subject-1 discussed and wrote about a planned attack on a bar in Toledo described as an “upscale” terror attack. According to the affidavit filed in federal court,
the two wrote extensively in journals and discussed their plans with the tipster who said they’d seen the journal entries. Court records describe some of those entries beginning with one where LeCron is concerned about Armstrong’s homicidal ideation saying he’d told her he wanted to “murder.” She wrote she was worried and added she told him “soon” that would happen. In another entry, Armstrong wrote he had a “vision to kill …to hunt the unwilling.”

“These peasants to society. The hatred towards the human race is bewildering. It makes me feel so good to know I will end it all. Very soon.”

The couple was true crime devotees on Tumblr and worshipped mass murders and school shooters, the Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in particular and flew to Colorado on a sightseeing trip in homage to the teen mass murders. While they were gone, the feds searched their house and cars, hers a Kia and his a Chrysler.

In the house, they found an AK-47, handguns, a shotgun, and ammunition as well as end caps sued in bomb-making.

2. The Tipster Told Police Armstrong Had Changed When he Hooked up With LeCron. Soon, the FBI’s Northwest Ohio Joint Terrorism Task Force Had an Undercover Agent Involved

The tipster told authorities that Armstrong’s behavior had begun to change; he wore only black and camo, often went with LeCron to a shooting range and the two were obsessed with anarchist ideas and, based on the two’s social media, in particular, Tumblr, they often posted and re-blogged posts that glorified mass murderers including Harris and Klebold but also Nickolas Cruz, the alleged Parkland, Florida school shooter, and convicted mass murderer and white supremacist Dylann Roof. The latter LeCron communicated with as he awaits his execution for the slaying of 9 African-American church-goers in a mass shooting in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015.

From the beginning, investigators were shocked by the “frequently posted voluminous photographs and comments on social media glorifying mass murderers, including the Columbine shooters and Dylann Roof.”

3. The Tumblr Pages Were a Window Into The Couple’s Ideologies & Plans for Mass Murder

TumblrElizabeth Lecron Tumblr posts

After LeCron’s Tumblr account ‘ligaturemarkings’ was shut down because of offensive content, she created a new one; CharlestonChurchMiracle, where she continued to post photos and comments about mass casualty attacks. Court records and her Tumblr pages show the seriousness with which the platform took her commentary – they shut her page down – but also even people on Tumblr from the True Crime community who said she was “disturbed.” Court records reveal a Tumblr user comment on a LeCron post, “U were trying to kill! U are scary admit urself into a ward. U and ur BF are the next mass shooters if someone doesn’t stop you!!!!”

In September, Lecron met with undercover FBI agents and stated she and an associate started to make a pipe bomb. She stated she “definitely want(ed) to make a statement up here” and thought the place where she worked could be a good target because she believed they were polluting the river behind the plant.

On Dec. 8, LeCron met with the undercover source at a retail sporting good stores, where she entered the store by herself and purchased two pounds of Hodgson Triple Seven Muzzleloading Propellant. She then went to a larger retailer in Perrysburg, where she purchased 665 screws of various sizes, some as large as three inches.

LeCron said to the source: “So I guess I’ll talk to you when the deed is done?” She later said: “I’m very excited…stick it to him man …be safe.”

She is being held without bail.

Charles Toney: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Civil rights lawyer Lee Merritt has taken the case of Charles Toney who is seen in a video posted to Facebook being beaten by a Hamilton County Tennessee Sheriff’s detective.

It’s reported that Merritt plans on filing a civil rights lawsuit against HCSO detective Blake Kilpatrick and possibly the department itself.

Toney, a rapper who goes by the name InterstateTax and is known as Ace Boogie on Facebook, was arrested on outstanding warrants on Dec. 3. Toney says he suffered serious injures. His lawyer says the incident was an assault by a law enforcement officer.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Police Claim Toney, Who Had a Warrant, Was in Possession of a Blunt. They Arrested & Handcuffed Him. Then the Violence Began

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond said his officers were attempting to arrest 24-year-old Toney on a warrant related to a October grand jury indictment for drug charges.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s detective Blake Kilpatrick and at least three other officers including at least one from the ATF, were serving warrants when they saw Toney with what they allege was a blunt. Local media reported that the marijuana cigar was tossed by Toney but was never found.

The police report indicates officers put Toney under arrest and “gave fist strikes to his back area” to get him to put his hands behind his back so they could handcuff him. According to the report by Kilpatrick, Toney attempted to reach into his pockets and continued even when told to stop. In the video Kilpatrick can be seen forcing Toney to the ground. The report states that Toney said she could not breathe and he was stood back up. It’s at this point, reports indicate, the Facebook video begins.

Kilpatrick takes Toney back down, drags him and punches him several times and kicks him at least one time. Kilpatrick said Toney bit his finger. In the video, Kilpatrick can be seen punching the man in the mouth. Police claim Toney spit at Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick said he “delivered a first strike” to prevent Toney from assaulting him. He also wrote that he was concerned that Toney had a weapon.

The man was handcuffed throughout the entire episode.

2. Civil Rights Attorney Lee Merritt Insists The Incident Was Less an Arrest Than it Was an Asasult

“What your watching is not an arrest— it is a violent assault by a known predator. #BlakeKilpatrick is a notorious police officer with a pattern and practice for excessive and unnecessary force. He should have been stripped of his badge a long time ago. He belongs in jail cell.

#CharlesToney contacted my office over the weekend about the events that occurred during his arrest on a simple warrant. He bonded out within hours. But not before suffering a collapsed lung, broken nose, multiple broken ribs, a broken finger and several abrasions and contusions that occurred during a violent and criminal assault. We don’t only want his badge. We want him behind bars. We demand it. Let’s go to work.”

A ‘Justice for Police Brutality Victims’ event was held at the Chattanooga City Council Tuesday night.

“December 3, 2018 local artist Interstate Tax (Charles Toney) was brutally beaten by Hamilton County Sheriff’s while handcuffed. 2018 has been filled with continual cases of police abuse of power even including the Chattanooga Police Department. It’s time to demand Community Control from our council by establishing an Independent Community Oversight Board over the CPD! It’s justice or else!”

It was reported that City councilors walked out of the meeting after protests erupted.

3. Toney Claims he Suffered a Collapsed Lung, Broken Finger, Broken Nose & Broken Ribs. The Rapper Maintains His Music in Part Motivated the Alleged Attack

In a Facebook video posted Sunday, Dec. 8, Toney claimed he suffered numerous injuries as a result of the beating.

Sheriff Hammond was reported to have said Toney did not require medical attention after the arrest.

“He was examined by the on-staff nurse at the jail who found that he was fit to continue to be booked,” the sheriff was quoted as saying. “There [were] no injuries that required hospitalization, stitches or any further treatment at the hospital.”

In an earlier post, he said felt as if Kilpatrick was trying to kill him.

He also repeated several times that he believes his music: “I got a collapsed lung, broken finger, broken nose, and broken ribs. Attention This What Comes With Being A #Chattanooga Artist.”

“They Never See The Good In A King 👑That’s What Hurt Me Most 😥”

4. Sheriff Hammond Says He’s ‘Alarmed When The Citizens Raise a Question as to Our Behavior as Police Officers’

In a joint press conference with the Chattanooga NAACP, Hammond said Kilpatrick “is on desk duty, he’s been pulled off the main line until after this investigation. any time there’s this level of concern it’s better t put the officer in a neutral position.

Hammond said, “Certainly, I’m always alarmed when the citizens raise a question as to our behaviour as police officers. I hold it very personal to me that we follow protocol. Protocol is there for a reason in any sheriff’s office. Any time we see something that raises suspicion, I want a thorough investigation to see, ‘Is it what it seems to be?’ Again, I caution the public. So often we only see certain portions of videotape. But the one thing is unmistakable. He was in handcuffs.”

Initially, the case was turned over to Hamilton County District Attorney Neal Pinkston’s office and later Hammond said it’s since been referred to the U.S. Department of Justice.

NAACP chapter president Dr. Elenora Woods said they’d be “working with the sheriff’s department to make sure justice is served in this incident.” She added that while all the detail s were not yet known, “…we can assure you that we will not rest if injustice has occurred. If it has occurred, we will be on top of it.”

5. In His Capacity as a Sheriff’s Deputy, Kilpatrick Was Named in a $40 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Local media reported that in 2017, Christopher Dalton Sexton, 29, ran from police who were trying to stop him for being in violation of a restraining order. When forced off the road, Sexton allegedly jumped out of his car and pointed a gun at police who fired. Kilpatrick was one of this officers and was named in a $40 million lawsuit.

Kanye West Tweets at Bob Dylan: ‘Let’s Get Together’

Kanye West has spent most of 2018 dealing with the fallout of his controversial statements. Now, however, it seems the prolific rapper is back to focusing on his music career. West hit up the legendary Bob Dylan on Twitter on Wednesday, suggesting that the two work together on some new music. “Calling out to Bob Dylan let’s get together,” he wrote.

West didn’t provide any further details on the potential collaboration, but he’s spoken about his appreciation for Dylan in the past. In a 2007 interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper said that his music reminds people of the way that Dylan writes, and that the comparison urged him to listen more intently to the songwriter’s catalogue. “I need to get more into Dylan’s music,” he was quoted as saying. West has since been compared to Dylan several times over the course of his career.

West & Bob Dylan Have Often Been Compared In Terms of Impact & Controversy

Instagram Photo

A Reddit thread created by user @Strangers_pilgrims drew parallels between the way that West has polarized his fans in recent years and the way that Dylan pivot from folk to electric guitar bothered listeners back in the 1960s. “I don’t know if Kanye has a lot to say about Bob Dylan,” the user wrote. “But I bet he’d be right up the dudes alley, as far as ideological inquisitiveness goes.” Read the full thread here.

In 2015, a few years after West’s most controversial release, Yeezus, a survey was taken that compared the lyrical breadth of Bob Dylan to some of today’s most successful rap artists. The research showed that several rapper, West included, used more words than Dylan. The subsequent response from music writers and fans led to several different essays comparing the artist and the impact that they have had on their respective generations.

Paul McCartney Likened West to a Poet ‘Like Bob Dylan’ During a 2015 Interview

Paul McCartney, who has been a peer of Dylan since the 1960s, further illuminated the comparison during an interview with NME. When asked about going to Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch the Throne concert, the former Beatle said: “I was expecting it to be, ‘Oh it’s great, it’s hip-hop, it’s loud…’, but I hadn’t until then got the urban poetry aspect. Like, Bob Dylan is a poet. And so is Jay-Z, and Kanye.”

McCartney also represents something of a precedent for West in terms of collaborating with rock legends. They released a trio of songs together, including “Only One”, “All Day” and “Four Five Seconds”; the latter of which featured Rihanna and peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. Watch the music video below. If the collaboration actually comes to fruition, its unclear whether the songs would be released individually, like McCartney’s, or as part of West’s upcoming studio album Yandhi.

Twitter Reacts to Tense Kodak Black & Ebro Interview

Tempers flared during a recent interview between Kodak Black and Hot 97 host Ebro. While Black came by to promote his sophomore album Dying to Live, Ebro’s insistence on discussing his upcoming sexual assault trial led to the rapper getting upset and walking out of the interview. Watch the interview below.

Instagram Photo

“With respect to everybody involved in that case, and we can’t get into details, but we take sexual assault very serious,” Ebro said during the interview. “We can’t get into details, but we hope to have you back so we can have a deeper conversation about that, because it’s a serious topic. We’re hearing these stories a lot.” Black refused to answer any questions, to which Ebro responded: “We don’t have to talk about nothing else, we can be done right here.” Black then got up and left.

Twitter Was Torn on Whether Ebro Was Wrong to Press Kodak Black About His Charges

The tense nature of the interview has drawn lots of attention on Twitter and Instagram. While some feel that Ebro was being pushy by forcing Black to discuss his sexual assault charges, others applauded the Hot 97 host for breaching topics that other interviewers would shy away from.

“Much love and respect to @oldmanebro for his question and how he handled interviewing Kodak Black,” wrote one user. “Sexual assault is a serious topic, and if you don’t care about it, you a lame. Stop jocking celebs accused of serious offenses. Respect bruh ✊🏾 #HipHop.”

Some Fans Believed That Kodak Black Should Have Been Better Prepared for the Interview

Another fan tweeted out: “Why are people mad at @oldmanebro for asking Kodak Black about his recent court case? The issue shouldn’t be with Ebro. The issue should be with Kodak’s label and management who should coach him on how to handle media and radio interview questions.”

Others were less complimentive of Ebro. “I’m happy Kodak Black walked out of the Hot97 interview because Ebro did some extra corny sh*t, smfh,” one disappointed fan wrote. “Get some new personalities in the building.” Another tweeted out: “I respect @KodakBlack1k for walking out of the interview…. Ebro is a hater and be asking ignorant a*s questions.” Check out more reactions below.

Ebro Claimed He Was Trying to Have ‘A Balanced Convo’ With the Rapper

Ebro himself addressed the controversy surrounding the interview on Twitter. “I was tryna have a balanced convo with Kodak Black & not ignore the serious allegations against him,” he explained. “But also not ask specifics to make his situation worse… and he wanna get an attitude with me?? Nah….”

The Hot 97 host went on to compliment Black despite his refusal to chat. “Watch the entire @KodakBlack1k interview… I think most of it was honest & balanced,” he tweeted. “He’s a smart guy… I just won’t be given ultimatums after we tried to be chill.. nah.”

Anna Lushchinskaya: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

$

Anna Lushchinskaya, 40, of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn went berserk on the D train Tuesday morning, physically and verbally assaulting a young Asian woman in a racist attack. The several-minute long incident, captured on video, is a shocking, and seemingly random, racist attack that stunned strap-hangers and around 10 million others who have seen the videos.

Lushchinskaya, or Anna Lushchinsky, the name she used in her career as an attorney, was arrested and charged after the drama on the D.

And it turns out, this is not the first time she’s been maniacally violent on the subway. Or even the second. She’s facing more than a dozen charges, court records show. But, she was released from jail the first time without bail and now, released again on just $1000 cash bond.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. It’s 7:50 a.m. Aboard a Packed D Train Rolling Through Sunset Park. Inexplicably, Anna Lushchinskaya Decides to Begin a Violent, Racist Tirade & Assault on a Young Asian Woman

On a packed New York City subway during the morning commute Tuesday, Lushchinskaya screams at, strikes, spits at and yells racist slurs at a young Asian woman identified by the New York Daily News as Michelle Tung, 24, before being detained and then arrested.

Twitter user PlatanoMan, real name Juan Ayala, not only captured the incident in a serious of videos but took Lushchinskaya down and then held her until New York City Transit Police arrived.

Here’s what happened:

In the first video, Lushchinskaya screams, ‘Fu*k off,” a number of times, strikes Tung with her umbrella and heavy keys and, attempts to kick Tung. For no reason. Then, Lushchinskaya repeatedly kicks Tung who was simply standing on the train. Tung then tries to defend herself and stop Lushchinskaya from kicking her. That’s when others intervene. Lushchinskaya, with a Russian or Eastern European accent, screams that the man who has stepped in her way is preventing her from hitting Tung and then Lushchinskaya lunges at Tung, who now begins to fight back. All the while, the dyed-blond Lushchinskaya, carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, kicks, strikes, and screams. People in the train are begging her to stop the attack. She then uses the metal part of her umbrella and again, strikes Tung, who is still trying to defend herself. People in the subway car are pleading for Lushchinskaya to stop.

2. The Scene is Captured on Video by New Yorker Juan Ayala, AKA Platano Man, Who Goes From Recording the Assault to Making a Citizen’s Arrest

The entire scene is being recorded by Ayala, who goes by PlatanoMan on Twitter and Facebook. He initially provides some comic relief by turning the camera phone on himself making what’s-going-on faces, but soon finds himself very much part of the action as opposed to just documenting it.

In the second part of his video, Lushchinskaya continues to fight, scream and then, attack the girl with her closed umbrella, stabbing at Tung. People are yelling, “What are you doing? Stop! What are you doing?”

Then, shockingly, as she appears to be using her phone to call the police, she spits at Tung and then yells at her, “Fu*king chink.” People are stunned, screaming at her. “Get the fu*k out of here with your racist shit.”

But she does not stop and turns her venom on Ayala.

3. Lushchinskaya Spits at & Calls Ayala Muhammad Atta, the 9-11 Bomber. Ayala is Latino

Lushchinskaya appeared unfazed and when Ayala asks if her plan is to continue to attack people, “So you’re just going to pick fights with everybody on the train now? Is that what you’re going to do?” Her response was to spit on him. She then calls him “fucking Muhammad Atta.”

Incredulous, Ayala responds: “Bitch, I’m Dominican.”

As he tells her the “whole world is laughing at you,” while he continues to record her, she then smacks his headphones out of his hands and then tries to smack his phone out of his hands. Ayala, fed up, shouts, “I’m not the one,” and takes her down to the floor.

Minutes later, when the train stops, Ayala has her in custody, her hands behind her back, awaiting police.

She is arrested.

4. Lushchinskaya Faces Menacing, Weapons, Assault & Harassment Charges. This is Not the First Time She Allegedly Committed a Subway Assault. Or Even the Second Time

After the incident, the NY Transit Police took to Twitter to thank Ayala and people who intervened and supplied police with videos and eyewitness accounts.

“ARRESTED: 40-year-old Anna Lushchinskaya was arrested by officers from Transit District 34 in Brooklyn and charged with felony assault in this case. Thank you to everyone who intervened and provided information.”

According to New York court records on the Dec. 11 attack, she is facing five charges: an A misdemeanor, menacing in the second degree with a weapon other than a gun; another A misdemeanor, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon used in an assault; a B misdemeanor, third-degree menacing; another B misdemeanor, attempted assault with the intent to cause physical injury; and a criminal violation, harassment in the second degree.

Records show that she bonded out on $1000 cash bail and has an order of protection, presumably prohibiting her from contact with Tung and perhaps others on the train; the parameters are not made clear in case records. She has a Legal Aid lawyer, Jacob Bradley Rolls. She is due back in court Jan. 22, 2019. Legal Aid is provided to the indigent, people who are poor or otherwise cannot afford a lawyer. Lushchinskaya is a lawyer who reportedly earns $110,000 a year.

And, it turns out this is not the first time that Lushchinskaya has been violent on the Manhattan D or R trains, and in the same general location, 36th Street in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn.

According to court records, Lushchinskaya was charged after allegedly pepper-spraying a man on the train on June 28. That man told the Daily News he and others on the train, soon filled with a cloud of the noxious spray that attacks mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs, was a terror attack.

In the June case, Lushchinskaya was charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault. She was also then given a Legal Aid lawyer and was released on her own recognizance, in other words, she walked out of jail sans bail. She apparently did not show up for a fall court date and in November a warrant was issued for her arrest. When she did appear in court on Nov. 16, she was again released without posting any bail. She had a court date on Dec. 13, the same day of the D train incident and on the June case, was again ROR’d. But court records appear to show that both cases have now been combined and in total, she is facing 10 charges with several counts each of menacing and harassment.

None of the charges of menacing, attempted assault and harassment which appear racially motivated in nature, are listed as hate crimes.

Days before, Gothamist reported Lushchinskaya allegedly struck at another subway passenger.

From Gothamist:

“”As I was passing her she stuck her arm out and like, side punched me with her keys in her knuckles …I stumbled, caught myself, kept walking and turned around because she was screaming at me to leave her alone. She called me a ‘psycho bitch,’ and I still had my headphones on so I couldn’t completely catch what she said because I was so taken off guard.”

That passenger said she informed transit police right after the incident and followed up with an email but has not heard back.

5. Records Show That Lushchinskaya Was Licensed as a Lawyer in New York & Was Named a Member of the NY Bar Association in 2005

According to online records and reports, Lushchinskaya, who is listed under the name Anna Lushchinsky, was admitted as an attorney in New York State in 2004 and was named as a new member of the New York Bar Association in 2005 for the second district, which covers Brooklyn.

And according to Dun & Bradstreet, she has a law practice in Sheepshead Bay with two employees. It’s reported that her practice earns $110,000 a year.

Kanye West & Drake Feud: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Kanye West and Drake are among the popular names in contemporary music. The rappers have worked alongside one another for nearly a decade, but this year has been a particularly troublesome one when it comes to their relationship. And based on the twitter explosion that happened Thursday, it doesn’t look as though things are going to calm down anytime soon.

After rumors that West leaked details about Drake’s illegitimate son, he put the rapper on blast by demanding an apology and then publicly denying Drake’s request for a sample clearance. “This proves sh*t faker than wrestling,” West tweeted with a screenshot of Drake’s request. Learn more about both men and their difficult alliance below.

1. Drake Has Long Cited Kanye West As One of His Biggest Musical Influences

From the moment Drake exploded onto the scene with 2009’s So Far Gone, he made it clear that West was a huge influence. “Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes,” he told MTV News. “We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye’s music and appreciate it beyond. We searched the samples and we find out where his inspiration came from, because he has one of the best ears in music, period. He knows how to recognize great music that’s not his.”

“He knows how to utilize great sounds and great music,” Drake added. “So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I’d even go as far as to say he’s the most influential person as far as a musician that I’d ever had in my life.” Drake would go on to rap over the instrumental for West’s “Say You Will”, which he had released the year before, and West even directed the music video for Drake’s breakout single “Best I Ever Had.”

Ironically, it is the instrumental for “Say You Will”, retitled “Say Whats Real”, that led to the current Twitter beef playing out between the two artists. Drake sent a sample clearance request for the track, which many believe is an indicator that he was planning to release So Far Gone on streaming platforms for the mixtape’s tenth anniversary. Given West’s denial, however, it doesn’t appear as though Drake will be successful.

2. West & Drake Were Supposed to Release a Collaborative Album In 2017

West and Drake have collaborated several times over the years on the remix to Big Sean’s “Blessings” and an early version of “Pop Life”, but it wasn’t until 2017’s “Glow” that a track made it onto one of their official releases. The track came hot on the heels of reports that West and Drake had been holed up at West’s Calabasas home working on a full length album together.

Tentatively titled There Goes the Neighborhood, the album ultimately fell through after Drake made some choice remarks about West to DJ Semtex. “I don’t know, I think everybody has their own little things going on, I’m not really sure what he’s referring to half the time,” Drake admitted. “I went from being… like working on a project with him, to him sorta publicly sh*tting on me and DJ Khaled for being on the radio too much. But yeah I’m not really sure, everybody’s got their own thing going on.”

There were even reports that the lead single to the West and Drake album would premiere at the Yeezy Season 5 Fashion Show on February 15, 2017, but no such track was released. Their last collaboration was on West’s album ye, where Drake received a songwriting credit on the track “Yikes.”

3. Drake Accused West of Betraying Him & Leaking Info About His Illegitimate Son

The world was shocked when Pusha T, the current president of West’s label G.O.O.D. Music, released the diss track “The Story of Adidon” earlier this year. The track took aim at Drake’s lyrical ability, but most shocking of all was the revelation that he had fathered a child with a former stripper and had been keeping the child’s existence a secret.

The fallout was swift, but when Drake appeared on LeBron James’ HBO series The Shop, he claims that West was the one who leaked the information. “[Kanye] sold me on this whole speech, like, ‘I’m in a great place, I’m making money, I’m a father,” the rapper said. “I wanna be Quincy Jones and help you, but in order to do that, you gotta be transparent with me and you gotta play me your music and tell me when you’re dropping, and I know you don’t like to do that.’ I was in the studio and I guess we all felt a genuine vibe from it.”

“I knew something was gonna come up about my kid,” Drake added. “They had to add the deadbeat dad thing to make it more appealing, which is fine. The mom and dad thing… Whatever. You don’t even know my family.” Drake also revealed that he had told West about plans to release his album Scorpion in July before West announced that he would be releasing five albums with various G.O.O.D. Music artists during the same month.

4. West Exploded on IG After Reports That Drake Slept With His Wife Kim Kardashian

The strained relationship between West and Drake was pushed even further when rumors surfaced that Drake had bedded West’s current wife Kim Kardashian. Some even went as far as to suggest that the “KiKi” referred to in Drake’s hit single “In My Feelings” was actually Kardashian. While Drake has not spoken on these rumors, West didn’t take kindly to them, and on September 20, he took to Instagram to let off steam.

“The fact that it’s people making rumors or thinking that you f*cked my wife and you not saying nothing and you carrying it like that. That don’t sit well with my spirit,” West said in the Instagram video. “You know if I had a girlfriend from Chicago, her name was Ranita, and then you was married to Rihanna. I wouldn’t make no song called named ‘RiRi.’”

West also insisted that he did not leak the information about Drake’s child to Pusha T. “So when you’re like, ‘Oh, I don’t know where it came from,’ you’re too smart for that, bruh,” he added. “You know where that come from. Don’t make no record with nothing that can be confused. Now I told you, I didn’t tell Pusha no information about your baby, baby mama, nothing like that. That ain’t come from me.”

5. West Has Now Said That Drake Demands Him an Apology for His Behavior

Following the request to clear the “Say You Will” sample, West went on a Twitter rant claiming that Drake still owes him an apology over the things he’s said about him. “It’s all love bro bro but don’t play with me,” he wrote on Twitter. “You stay too close to be playing all these industry games bro.” West went on to tweet: “Sending purple emojis When I’m dealing with mental sh*t I need my apologies now. Not through Scooter either Not through Travis.”

Roughly an hour after the initial rush of tweets, West updated fans regarding the situation with Drake. “Drake finally called,” he wrote, “Mission accomplished.” This has many believing that the rapper received the apology he was seeking out. Either way, West insisted that the sample for “Say You Will” won’t be cleared. “By the way… Not cleared”, he wrote, with a laughing emoji.

The feud between Kanye West and Drake shows no signs of slowing down. A few months after West put Drake on blast on Instagram, the rapper took to Twitter to go on a rant about how Drake owes him an apology for “trying to take food out your idols kids mouths.”

Shortly after West concluded his rant, Drake reportedly laughed the whole matter off. The Shade Room posted a screenshot from what appears to be the rapper’s Snapchat with a black background and five laughing emojis. Check out the screenshot below.

The whole ordeal may turn out to backfire for Drizzy, however. He tried to contact West to clear the song “Say Whats Real”, which samples West’s 2008 track “Say You Will.” West posted a screenshot of the request along with the caption: “This proves sh*t faker than wrestling.” West added that Drake needs to stop being passive aggressive towards him. “Sending purple emojis When I’m dealing with mental sh*t I need my apologies now,” he wrote. “Not through Scooter [Braun] either Not through Travis [Scott].”

Things took a confusing turn about an hour after West’s initial rant, as he updated followers with the news that Drake had called him to clear things up. “Drake finally called,” he wrote. “Mission accomplished.” Just when it seemed as though the two rap superstars had squashed their beef, however, West tweeted: “By the way… Not cleared.”

West Refused to Give Drake a Sample Clearance for the 2009 Track ‘Say Whats Real’

While the purpose for Drake clearing a track from 2009 remains to be seen, many have speculated that he was planning to releases his breakout mixtape So Far Gone on streaming services for its tenth anniversary. It’s currently unclear whether these speculations are true or whether Drake will be able to proceed without West’s clearance permission.

This Twitter exchange comes only a few months after Drake appeared on LeBron James’ HBO series The Shop, where he claimed that West betrayed his confidence and leaked information about his personal life. “[Kanye] sold me on this whole speech, like, ‘I’m in a great place, I’m making money, I’m a father’,” he revealed.

1. Thunberg Created the ‘School Strike for the Climate’ Movement That’s Spread Globally

In August of 2018, the 9th-grade student said she would not go to school until the Swedish general election which was held, slated for Sept. 9. She said she made up her mind to do something following the unparalleled heat wave and summer fires her country experienced.

Thunberg took her strike to the Swedish parliament in Stockholm; the Skolstrejk för Klimatet, or School Strike for the Climate. Her demand was that her country reduce carbon emissions as agreed upon in the Paris climate agreement. And so the pig-tailed girl sat outside the Swedish parliament every Friday during school hours in protest. She did not relent.

Thunberg’s School Strike for Climate was a movement that caught on in nations nearby and across the planet.

In Australia in particular tens of thousands of kids joined the protest. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s admonition that, “what we want is more learning in schools and less activism” was ignored.

Thunberg had started something bigger than she.

2. Thunberg Addressed the UN & Her Message Went Viral

Thunberg addressed the COP24 United Nations climate change summit on Dec. 4. She said, “What I hope we achieve at this conference is that we realize that we are facing an existential threat. This is the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced. First, we have to realize this and then as fast as possible do something to stop the emissions and try to save what we can save.”

A few days later, she made her point and mission crystal clear. She was demanding action, not words. And she called for bravery and for adults to well, act like adults.

“You only speak of green eternal economic growth because you are too scared of being unpopular. You only talk about moving forward with the same bad ideas that got us into this mess, even when the only sensible thing to do is pull the emergency brake. You are not mature enough to tell it like it is. Even that burden you leave to us children.”

Thunberg schooled the adults in the room.

”So we have not come here to beg the world leaders to care for our future. They have ignored us in the past and they will ignore us again. We have come here to let them know that change is coming whether they like it or not.”

3. Thunberg Adeptly Uses Social Media to Spread Her Message. She’s the Inspiration Behind a Global Strike for the Climate on Thursday, Dec. 14

Thunberg has called for a worldwide strike to demand action on climate change.

“Climate leaders don’t just talk. They act. Join us!! Global climate strike 14 December. Spread the word!!”

She was joined by climate scientists in her call to action.

Thunberg was part of the Rise for Climate demonstration outside the European Parliament in Brussels and is part of the Declaration of Rebellion organized by Extinction Rebellion in London.

She says the only way to get anything done is through rebellion and civil disobedience.

4. Her Family Includes Actors, Artists & Scientists. Her Ancestor Discovered the Greenhouse Effect of Carbon Dioxide

Thunberg’s mother is Swedish opera singer Malena Ernman. Her father is Swedish actor Svante Thunberg and her grandfather is Swedish actor and director Olof Thunberg.

Her ancestor on her father’s side is the Nobel Prize winner, Svante Arrhenius. Arrhenius was a Swedish physicist and chemist who received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1903. He is known for myriad scientific contributions but it was his discovery that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide increase the Earth’s surface temperature. That finding led to the conclusion that human-made carbon dioxide emissions cause global warming.

5. Thunberg, Who Has Asperger’s Syndrome, Was Named One of Time Magazine’s Most Influential Teens of 2018

Her mother published a book, “Scener ur Hjärtat” (which translates to Scenes of the Heart), in which she described her family’s “crisis” of her daughter’s Greta and Beata’s illnesses that includes autism and other neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and their concern about climate awareness, the health of the planet, and living a more sustainable life.

Greta says on her Twitter profile she has Aspergers and told a journalist from The New Yorker that she sees “the world a bit different, from another perspective. I have a special interest. It’s very common that people on the autism spectrum have a special interest.”

Thunberg was named to Time magazine’s 25 most influential people under age 20.

The at once shy and assertive teen told Time, “I thought that nothing is happening and no one is doing anything — it is my moral duty to do what I can,” she tells TIME of her mission. “I cannot vote, so this is a way that I can make my voice heard.”

‘Platano Man’ AKA Juan Ayala: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Juan Ayala is a mild-mannered Dominican-American New Yorker on his way to work on a jam-packed morning rush hour D train. Suddenly, a petite white woman begins a violent, vile, vicious racist attack on an unsuspecting, unassuming young Asian woman.

Like the apparent true reporter he is, Ayala begins to document the scene with his camera phone. But after the attack becomes more than he can abide, Ayala morphs into Platano Man who springs into action, takes the assailant down and makes a citizen’s arrest of the glaringly deranged attacker: a dyed-blond 40-year-old lawyer from Brooklyn with a Russian accent.

Days later, Platano Man is not just a Twitter handle, but a real-life superhero. The kind of superhero you’d only find in Nueva York.

Here is his story:

1. It’s Tuesday & Juan Ayala Joins Thousands of Strap-Hangers on the Morning Rush Hour Train Headed For Manhattan From Sunset Park in Brooklyn. Little Does he Know He’ll Soon be the Subway Superhero

This is the happy ending of the story. Juan Ayala on the cover of the New York Daily News.

“This is a Job for ‘Platano Man;’ Subway Superhero Collars Hate-Spewing Straphanger”

Ayala is stunned.

“Oh My God 😭🙏🏾 Everybody go pick up the @nydailynews today!”

The illustration of ‘Platano Man’ is a stroke of comedic genius, while paying huge homage to the Dominican from Brooklyn just living his life and trying to do the right thing. The image is of the caped Subway Superhero, with his platano signal shining over the New York skyline.

“Thank you, New York. You ridiculous cesspool. 😂😂😂”

Let’s rewind.

2. It’s 7:50 a.m. Aboard a Packed Subway Car. White Woman Anna Lushchinskaya Begins a Violent, Racist Tirade & Assault on a Young Asian Woman

The subway is packed on the morning commute Tuesday in Sunset Park, Brooklyn heading into Manhattan. Inexplicably, Anna Lushchinskaya launches a deranged and violent racist attack young Asian woman Michelle Tung.

Ayala, bundled up for the weather, is on that train standing just feet from Lushchinskaya. He begins to record her attack.

The video of the nearly 5-minute long assault witnessed by scores of subway riders, begins when Lushchinskaya screams, ‘Fu*k off,” a number of times, and then, strikes Tung with her umbrella and heavy keys. For no reason. Then, Lushchinskaya repeatedly kicks Tung who was simply standing on the train. Tung then tries to defend herself and stop Lushchinskaya from kicking her. That’s when others intervene. Lushchinskaya, with a Russian accent, screams that the man who has stepped in her way is preventing her from hitting Tung and then Lushchinskaya lunges at Tung, who now begins to fight back.

Ayala is recording.

2. Ayala Goes From Recording the Assault to Intervening; Platano Man Subdues the Assailant & Makes a Citizen’s Arrest

In the very beginning of the recording, Ayala, who goes by PlatanoMan on Twitter and Facebook, cuts to himself to provide some comic relief, but soon the incident is far from funny and he finds himself very much part of the action as opposed to just documenting it.

In the second clip, Lushchinskaya continues to fight, scream and then, attack the girl with her closed umbrella, stabbing at Tung. People are yelling, “What are you doing? Stop! What are you doing?” Then, shockingly, as she appears to be using her phone to call the police, she spits at Tung and then yells at her, “Fu*king chink.” People are stunned, screaming at her. “Get the fu*k out of here with your racist shit.”

His superhero subway work is done. She is arrested and charged. See the full story about what happens with Lushchinskaya here. This story is about Juan Ayala, Platano Man.

5. Platanos aka Plantains Are a Caribbean Staple & Are Awesome Prepared as ‘Platanos Maduros’ or ‘Tostones.’ But Their Significance Goes Beyond the Cucina for Caribbean Latinos

The fact is the plantain is far more than just a dietary staple. It’s representative of the West African diaspora and its cultural significance is intertwined in the cultural fabric of the West Indies and the Caribbean.

From writer Will Triak:

“When you think of culture, the first thing that pops into your mind may very well be food. The different types of food that help define a culture are an important way to unify people from the same place and provide them a means to celebrate their heritage and the things that make the similar. But often times, we don’t think of the foods that unite a lot of us. Foods that transcend borders. Food that is so delicious it cannot be confined to one group. There is one food that you should most definitely be drooling over right now.

And that food is sweet plantains.

You may know these sweet and crisp wonders as platano maduro, kelewele, or aloco. Sweet plantains, simply put, are bananas that are large and over ripened. These magic vessels of flavor can be fried, mashed, boiled, or roasted. You name it, and sweet plantains can be cooked that way. In many Caribbean countries, plantains are eaten as a staple starch. In Ghana and other West African countries, it is eaten with fish or cabbage, as well as mixed with a host of other ingredients to make eto. And in the Southern United States, you are sure to find them tossed on the grill.

It is likely that you are wondering to yourself, how do all of these different places use this same ingredient so heavily? Believe it or not, there is an actual historical reason for this. When people were kidnapped from different parts of Africa, specifically West Africa, they were taken to different places of the world such as the Caribbean and the Southern United States to be slaves. These people didn’t leave all of their cultures behind, however. Food was one of the main ways that these people in different areas of the world were connected.”…sweet plantains are more than just a food. They are a marker of one of the largest diasporas in human history. So next time you bite into your eto or your platano maduro, remember its significance.”

Jewelry Stealing Prank: Best Employee Reactions [VIDEO]

The “jewelry stealing prank,” the latest viral trend sweeping across internet, is filling social media with videos of people trying on expensive jewelry and then pretending to run out of the store, while filming the reactions of the unsuspecting store employees.

The viral trend started in China, with hundreds of videos flooding Chinese social media sites. The videos generally start with a patron trying on some expensive piece of jewelry, and as soon as the store employee leans back, the customer takes off running toward the door before abruptly stopping to nonchalantly check themselves out in the mirror, while remaining inside the shop.

The reactions from the very loyal jewelers and store employees often shows the employee jumping into action, sliding across the jewelry counter and sprinting off after the customer before realizing the customer stopped running. Quite of few of the videos show the employee embarrassingly darting back behind the counter.

It is just the latest in a series of online trends that have taken off across Asia including  the “falling stars” challenge and the “flaunt your wealth” trend, a fad which is believed to have originated in Russia. The “falling stars” trend has Instagram users dramatically lie on the ground as if they’ve just fallen and injured themselves in glamorous settings, such as beside luxury jets, yachts, sports cars, private tennis courts, exotic destinations and the like. The “flaunt your wealth” challenge takes “falling stars” one step further, and has the rich Instagram users adding all of their belongings surrounding them after they’ve fallen, such as expensive makeup, clothes, jewelry, etc.

According to RT, the “jewelry stealing prank” is thought to have been inspired by Indonesian Instagram-influencer Harvinth Skin, who tricked a shoe store employee into chasing after him after he took off running out of the store, only to watch Skin casually jog back into the store immediately after. The video has been viewed over a million times on Instagram alone.

Instagram Photo

The clips of the jewelry prank began circulating on popular short video app Tik Tok – known as Dou Yin in China earlier this month, according to the Daily Mail. The reactions to the store employees jumping into action has the internet in tears, complimenting the jewelers’ quick reactions and loyalty to their job.

“Do these shops only hire ex Olympic hurdlers?” one user wrote on Twitter. “I’d either be falling on my face or crashing through the glass. These are some graceful AF jewelry store workers, I’m just sayin.”

Some users questioned why the jewelry stores didn’t have mirrors closer to the cases, and wondered why so many of the stores have the mirrors located so closely to the exit. Others jokes that if this prank takes off in America, the store clerks wouldn’t be able to jump the counter to run after the perpetrator.

“American clerks would be like ‘oh well I tried.’ When in reality they still trying to get over the counter 5 minutes later,” user Jersey Girl wrote.

Check out a couple more videos and pictures of the prank below:
